I've had the initial idea for this piece since March or so.. I wanted to do a piece with a pigeon and sneaker/s in it (yeah I know, very NYC cliche), but I had no idea what it could look like..
Well today I suddenly decided to do it, and.. here's the result.
Done in pencils, ink, and coffee for the blotch .
All in all I'm not sure if it's good.. perhaps it's way too corny.. perhaps it's not. You decide.
Also this is the 3rd traditionally drawn thing I did in a row, so my next sub will probably be a vector or pixelart, just to mix it up .
hahaha nah man, it dries down just like watercolor. absolutely nothing sticking or moulding .
as far as i know, using coffee and tea instead of watercolor to make blots and in some cases for toning the paper is a common thing.
well pigeons are pretty much one of the NYC symbols.. you know how they have all those pigeon cages on roofs everywhere etc.. and remember how dudes went crazy for the pigeon dunks release lol??
and I kinda like the birds cuz they are symbolic to my own city as well , but that's a different story.
yea i heard of useing tea, not coffee though i thought it would be to sticky
yea but why? why/what has nyc have to do with pigeons i wonder. i mean pigeons are everywhere. in every city?
i knew a dude with a tatoo on his arm of one, that he did himself, looked like a duck so he wrote pigeon underneath it so you could tell it wasnt a duck and he spelt pigeon wrong doh lol. he loved them, hes actully dead now, but he used to love his pigeons.
